Hello everyone! My name is Carole, and I am the new London Programme Officer at CoachBright. I am very excited to be a member of the enthusiastic and ambitious CoachBright team. When I started university, I decided to make the best of the LSE Volunteer Centre and its opportunities in order to develop new skills and discover what I am truly passionate about. Over the last three years, I discovered how much I enjoy spending time with young people, especially in an academic context. I volunteered as a mentor and coach, and I ended up writing my dissertation on schooling and education systems in the West. In my last year I also worked as a Head Coach, a role that gave me a lot of responsibility and helped me to develop my interpersonal, public speaking and organisational skills. I am looking forward to pursuing this path by starting my career in a social organisation that tackles educational disadvantage and inequality in the UK. I am sure I will learn a lot from this role, both on a personal and professional level.
Oh, I almost forgot: last Christmas, the CoachBright team hosted a wonderful Christmas Party for coaches and staff. They had fresh mince pies warm from the oven which are one of my favourite holiday treats. I must have eaten 10 of them in a row. Another reason for me to join the CoachBright team right there! ;)
I wish the best of luck to all the students, coaches and staff in the new academic year.
Together we can continue to do great things and have an impact!
