What is Lifecycle?

Lifecycle is a coaching programme supporting young people in the workplace from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. The programme includes:

  • a group launch event

  • 6 x 1:1 coaching sessions with two workshops

Why?

Socioeconomic background has the single biggest impact on employees rate of progression, and both individuals and organisations lose out. No one should have to face barriers in their career due to their background, and no organisation wants to lose their top talent and future leaders.

  • Research into who ‘gets ahead’ most quickly has shown that (despite no evidence of poorer performance), in some sectors, employees from lower socioeconomic backgrounds take 25% longer to gain a promotion

  • Inequalities in career progression contribute to a class pay gap: people from low socioeconomic backgrounds in elite occupations earn on average £6,400 a year less than their colleagues from more privileged backgrounds

  • As you look further up the ladder, the picture gets increasingly disproportionate. For example, about nine in ten senior roles in financial services are held by people from higher socioeconomic backgrounds (compared to one third of the working population)

Our Lifecycle programme will support your employees to develop and utilise their skills, ambition and talent to fulfil their potential within your organisation.

How can you get involved?

To partner with us is simple. First, we survey and speak to your team, analyse the responses and feed this back to you. We then use this insight to tailor the programme for your organisation and its needs.
